I'm starting to get into the swing of things here but in some of my classes I don't know what to do. As one of the only foreigners in the classes that I am taking right now, I get asked all the time to give the "American" opinion on a lot of the subjects we talk about. My adviser is part of the business department and I'm taking one of his classes, but he's seems to love picking on me and asking me difficult questions about America's economic situation. In another one of my classes, it's just me, my roommate, and two Japanese students. It's odd to have a classroom size so small here, but I guess that's fairly normal in Japan. At CSUMB, I believe the minimum class size is around 15 students, but there seems to be no limit like that here. While I do love how the teacher and I can have one-on-ones it makes it really awkward if there is a question that I can't answer; especially since the class focuses on South East Asia. However, I do really like the courses offered here at Toyo. There is a good mix of English only classes with interesting enough topics. I just wish that the workload was a bit more intensive for the English speaking students.
